An 18-month-old boy playing with a car remote locked
himself in his mother’s vehicle for more than 30 minutes.
Rojanathamsathan Sattahip Foundation rescuers were
called to a beauty salon in Soi Chaiyapruek Village on Soi Bonkai around
12:30 p.m. June 27.
Young Yuttasak Petma was standing inside the car
holding the car remote control in his visibly sweaty hand. The toddler’s
mother, Maeya and grandfather Sinchai Isworapan were shouting to the
boy, hoping to get him to push the right button to unlock the vehicle.
It didn’t work.
A locksmith was able to open the car door and the boy
was recovered unhurt.
Maeya said Yuttasak’s grandfather placed the boy in the car while she
was placing a bag in the trunk. She said she didn’t realize the toddler
had the keys until she closed the door. By then it was too late. The
playful boy started pushing buttons and his fate was sealed.
