Thieves who thought themselves clever by using a
slingshot to rob an Austrian of his motorbike proved not so smart after all
when police easily recovered the bike through its hidden GPS locator.
Roland Limer, 51, said hoodlums had shot him in the neck
with a slingshot, then stole his Honda Click motorbike and wife’s handbag
outside the Pattaya Floating Market June 30.
About 20 Pattaya and Huay Yai police followed the bike’s
Global Positioning System signal to a house on Soi Kaomakok 2, but found
only the vehicle with its license plate removed hidden in a bathroom. No one
was at home, so an arrest warrant for its occupants was issued.
