Living a Sculptural Park life

Nanthini Doowa
Imagine going into a dream where you were lying on a fashionable round bed, surrounded by round wardrobes, round doors, round handles, it was a living in which everything was unique. The colors were pleasant to the eye and the style was harmonious and Mediterranean. But then you wake up and find that exactly what you’ve dreamed about is actually reality. It’s perfect isn’t it! As the saying goes ‘Happy are those who dream dreams and are ready to pay the price to make them come true’. It’s time for you to take the journey into Sculpture Park.
An international active entrepreneur, listed as one of the 200 most important collectors worldwide, Klaus Turbon stands behind the great success of Sculpture Park. Traveling around the world he has collected various pieces and has had the chance to meet many famous artists and visit galleries which he claims has allowed him to develop a relationship with each object he collects- and every object has its own story. He has blended the beauty and simplicity of Thai arts and handicrafts into an amazing dream come true, which is presented at the Sculpture Park.
Born in Wuppertal, Germany, Klaus went off in search of uniqueness and quality and took the risk of creating something different. From his humble beginnings as a toolmaker, he climbed the ladder of success until he reached the stage of owning an international company. He developed his designing abilities by following his life motto from the deceased former German President Johannes Rau, ‘Not dividing but uniting.’ Thus he united both Asian and western cultures into one form to create the amazing Sculpture Park.
Each villa at the park has its own creative name, style and concept that gives it a different sense of identity. For example there is a Cake Villa (cut like a gateau) the Bean 1 and Bean 2 Villas (shaped strangely enough like beans), plus many more amazing designs.
Sculpture Park is situated near Highway 36, the road to Chonburi and Rayong and is relatively close to the Regents school. The architecture, interior design, landscaping, paintings and sculptures, furniture, and kitchen designs have all been located and fixed with creativity and uniqueness in mind.
The seven dream villas with sizes from 260sq. meters to 2,000sq. meters are owned by a company made up from four Thai families. Every house occupies a plot of at least 1,600sq. meters and has its own swimming pool as well as a spacious car park. Ten studios are also available for staff, chauffeurs and maids.
A big thank you must go out ABACUS Development who have given birth to the innovative ideas of Klaus Turbon, and brought to Pattaya his unique design concepts that capture the architectural wonders of the world.
So let’s put a halt to the journey and rather make this a destination. Each one of us is unique and each of us deserves a unique place to live. All of this can be fulfilled at Sculpture Park. It could be your dream destination if you choose to make it so.
