The miscreant purse snatcher
was caught and detained.
On the 14 of November Police Lt. Colonel Prachote Kanha
received a report that a purse snatcher had stolen a billfold belonging to a
Korean Tourist. The victim of the theft, Ms. Park Hee Kim, 32, a Korean
national, told police that a Thai man had snatched her purse and fled in the
back of a baht bus.
Dispatching his forces with utmost haste, and following the wrongdoer’s
escape route, within 10 minutes police were able to apprehend the suspect,
Mr. Suan Thuri, 38, of Sukhothai province. Suan was arrested immediately
when police found the Korean tourist’s billfold, still containing 1,300 baht
in cash, on his person.
When the victim of the theft, Ms. Park Hee Kim, saw him, she immediately
approached him, pointed her finger in his face and berated him in colourful
Korean.
When Ms. Park found that all her belongings were safe, she waied Lt. Colonel
Prachote in thanks and, giving the thief one last snarly sneer, flounced out
of the police station.
Mr. Suan said he took to purse snatching only recently as he didn’t have
enough money to go out.
