Swiss Chef of the Year 1996 to visit Pattaya

1996 Swiss Chef of the Year Hilda Veraguth will be at the Amari Orchid Resort in November for one special night of culinary delight.

Hilda Veraguth

Every year a chef-competition is held in Switzerland. Since this country is known world-wide for having the best hotel and restaurants schools, it is the target of all chefs in Switzerland to win the title of the Swiss Chef of the year. Usually the winners are men. This year, a little, middle aged woman, who never went to a fancy school or even had proper cooking lessons, showed them how a simple farmer’s daughter and housewife, who made it to be the boss of one of the most famous restaurants in Switzerland, is be able to prepare the best dishes. Mrs. Hilda Veraguth, 54, is the third woman ever to win this precious award.
In Bangkok, it is common for famous chefs to visit hotels and cook for their customers, while Pattaya never seems to get treated to such a fete. Not this time. In November, Hilda will be in the Amari Orchid Resort in Pattaya to spoil the patrons for one evening with delicious Swiss food.
So as not to miss out on this special treat, many people should take advantage and try something very different. To make your mouth water we will tell you what kind of food will be served:
As Entrance: Moet & Chandon Brut.
1. Sagogn Meat Tart served with Winter Salad and Shallot Jam.
2. Ravioli “Grison” Style.
3. Fillet of Trout enhanced with a light Barley Risotto.
4. Rack of Lamb with Herb Crust, fresh Garden Vegetables and Polenta.
5. Caramelised cream with Baked Apples or a selection of Buendner Cheese with Pearbread.
Those attending the dinner can choose between the above mentioned menu for the price of B 850 — per person or take a second choice; the same menu but including 4 glasses of the best selection of different wines for the price of B 1500 — per person.
Got an appetite already? See ya there then!
