Pre-marital shuffle? - or attempted date rape?

Pattaya police received a report of a possible attempted rape in the early morning of Wednesday the 13th of November.
Ms. Ratana Wongsricha, 16, filed a complaint against Mr. Rakchart Patana, 16. Ms. Ratana said she had never engaged in any sexual behaviour before and was from a good family. Thus she felt obliged to make this report.
Ms. Ratana is an employee at the M. K. Sukiyaki Restaurant in the Big C Shopping Centre. She tearfully told police her harrowing experience. Ms. Ratana related that a group of her fellow employees had invited her for a drink with them in one of their rooms, which is behind the Susie Massage Parlour.
Ms. Ratana saw that so many people were going that she didn’t want to be a bother (she felt Kreng Jai) so she went to drink in Mr. Rakchart’s room instead. After everyone had decided to go home, only Ms. Ratana and Mr. Rakchart remained. After imbibing some more, she saw it was late and excused herself.
But Rakchart turned off the lights and jumped on Ratana. She assumed his intention was rape, so she ran out of the room and went to consult her relatives on the matter and then went to the police.
The officer on duty and a force of men then went out to apprehend the lascivious 16 year old. He opened the door for police willingly and they arrested him on charges of being indecent to a woman that wasn’t his wife. The miniature Lothario was taken to the Pattaya police station for further questioning.
Rakchart admitted to doing that of which Ratana accused him, but he said it was done out of love for her. He was willing to confess to any charges she wished to file.
Ratana said she really didn’t want to cause any major problems. Would the police remind Rakchart that she was a girl with a family and to be more circumspect in the future? She also asked for damages of 5,000 baht, which Rakchart paid willingly.
The police then gave Rakchart a severe tongue-lashing on how to treat a lady.
