Million-baht amulets to fund Banglamung projects

Banglamung District will try to raise funds for temples, hospitals and government offices by selling million-baht sets of Buddhist amulets minted by renowned designers.
District Chief Sakchai Taengho joined former Culture Minister Sonthaya Kunplome and Pattaya Business & Tourism Association advisor Sa-nga Kitsamret, who is directing the amulet-making project, Oct. 7 to announced the coming availability of the King Taksin the Great and Luang Phor Koon Parisutto amulets.
The amulets of the 18th century king of Thonburi and “Pech Burapha” model of the revered “monk of magic” from Wat Baan Rai in Nakhon Ratchasima will be made by renowned monks and mixed with clay and materials of many sacred amulets made previously, including the 1942 model of the Phra Buddha Chinnarat amulet, 1962 Phra Luang Poo Tuad, 1957 Phra Buddha and 1975 King Taksin Maharaja Luang Poo Tim of Laharn Temple.
Each set of five amulets will cost 999,999 baht. Funds raised from sale of the amulets will go toward the building of a King Taksin monument at Banglamung Temple, a crematorium at Tha Kradan Temple, renovation of the Banglamung District Office, and medical supplies for Pattaya Hospital.
