Family members are in
shock over Prasert Khaengkhan’s death.
Boonlua Chatree
Police suspect a Banglamung man found dead in a Pong tapioca field was
ambushed by a business rival.
Police found the body of Prasert Khaengkhan, 42, lying face-down in the
field off Huakrok-Mapling Road. He’d been shot at the base of the right
ear, cheek and arm. His motorbike was parked about 50 meters away with a
trail of blood connecting it to the body.
Prasert’s son, Nattapol Khaengkhan, 18, said his father tended a herd of
cows owned by a former local government official. Prasert had gone out
to check on the cows, which were in the tapioca field, and never
returned.
Investigators said they discovered Prasert had had several conflicts
over the cow-selling business, with serious problems reported to police.
Officers believe the shooter was lying in wait for Prasert with a
shotgun.
