Looking for tips on how best to promote the city, Pattaya officials were
given tips on public relations and information from the Thai government’s
main spokesman.
Yuwathida Jeerapat, deputies and advisors called on the Secretariat of the
Cabinet at Bangkok’s Government House Sept. 27.
Director Prathana Suthin welcomed the Pattaya spokespeople, three of whom
also serve as city council members, and showed them a video covering the
duties of the government spokesman’s office. The Cabinet Secretariat
currently employs 60 people in public relations.
Yuwathida learned that the national office is split into five divisions
covering strategic and public relations plans, foreign PR, information and
news analysis, media relations, and government publications.
Prathana said she was glad Pattaya decided to study the national office and
stressed to the Pattaya officials the need for speed, truthfulness and
precision.
Yuwathida said the information collected will be used to foster strong
relationships with Pattaya departments and offices and help establish a
management structure for her office.
