Police arrested a Frenchman armed with 97 bogus ATM
cards and a Google map of automated teller machines in Pattaya before he
could pull a single baht from any of them.
Anthony Marc Chritstophe Claude Thull, 23, was
captured standing in front of a Siam Commercial Bank ATM in North
Pattaya July 7 after an SCB fraud officer alerted police to counterfeit
card usage.
Police said Thull confessed to getting the copied
cards, with numbers stolen from French citizens, and heading to Pattaya
to seek his fortune. None of the cards worked, however.
