Tourism students from a northern university were
given a lesson on how Pattaya officials monitor tourist operations here
during a visit to city hall.
The Jan. 27 call by Phayao University’s Public
Relations and Tourism Department saw students taken on a tour of city
offices by Praiwan Hongsa, head of the Pattaya Tourism Department, and
Theerasak Jatupong, chief of the Department to Maintain Peace and
Stability. Each explained their job responsibilities before taking
students to lunch at Plathong Restaurant.
Lecturer Napapha Suwanrong, head of the Phayao
University Public Relations Program led the tour, which was welcomed by
Rungratree Thongsai, Pattaya City public relations specialist.
Napapha said Phayao was interested in learning about
Pattaya because of its reputation as a popular tourist destination.
“As such, each department official monitoring the
tourist industry must be a real professional,” Napapha said. “The
students’ visit today is very useful for them to learn and Pattaya is
very thankful for such an opportunity.”
