The Rayong Red Cross and 36 provincial agencies collaborated to
distribute relief bags, welfare payments, bicycle and educational
scholarships to residents in Nikhom Pattana.
The latest in a series of monthly “mobile government” outreach efforts
saw Gov. Wichit Chatpaisit, his wife, Red Cross President Supranee
Chatpaisit, Piya Pitutaesa, president of the Rayong Provincial
Administrative Organization, and Nikhom Pattana District Chief Montchai
Pinprasert meet residents at Nikhom School Sept. 20.
The event saw officials pass out bags of supplies for flood victims,
stipends to the elderly and poor, and sports equipment to schools.
Supranee also gave out 10 bicycles to poor children who have to travel
far to school and glasses to senior citizens.
The outreach effort also offered government services, such as
registration of birth certificates, houses, land and cars; utility
payments, career counseling, acceptance of complaints relating to labor,
public services and pensions, and education on HM the King’s
“sufficiency economy” philosophy.
