Calling All Vendors! The Pattaya International Ladies Club will be the host for a big Holiday Bazaar at Royal Cliff Beach Resort on October 8. The International Meditation Club organizes “The best of both worlds meditation training in Samatha (calmness & mind power) and Vipassana (insight & wisdom) meditation. These techniques are aimed at eradicating stress, tension, anger, anxiety and depression. This will enable you to lead a happier and healthier life. Training will be on the private beach at Pinnacle Resort and Spa during the holiday weekend from July 22 to 24. Instruction will be in English by international meditation masters. Pratheep (Peter) Malhotra will be the speaker at the Pattaya City Expats Club meeting on July Sunday 24th. Peter, as most people will realize, is the owner and managing director of the Pattaya Mail and the PCEC is privileged that Peter is able to come this weekend as the Pattaya Mail celebrates its 1st Cycle anniversary. Peter will speak, among other things, about the early days of the newspaper and what he sees as the essential ingredients of a community newspaper. The meeting will start at 10.30 a.m. in Henry J. Bean’s Restaurant in the grounds of the Amari Orchid Resort. Buffet breakfast available from 9.30 a.m. The meeting is open to all and is a wonderful friendly forum for keeping up to date with all the changes in regulations that foreigners need to be aware of to live legally and happily in Thailand. Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW) E.S. Hamilton Post 9876 officially meets the second Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. at the Hog’s Breath Saloon, Soi Batman. The Rotary Club of Taksin-Pattaya has arranged a fellowship evening, Saturday July 30, and would like to welcome fellow Rotarians from other clubs in Pattaya as well as guests. This is an eat all you can buffet with very reasonable drink prices. They are planning a nice social evening amongst friends, and non-Rotarians are welcome to attend. The evening starts at 6 p.m. at the ‘Your Hut Caf้,’ Naklua Soi 12. Tickets are 400 baht and include egg rolls, nachos, fajitas, tago, lasagna, fried rice with shrimp, fried fish, ardobo, rice, plus other items and of course dessert. Drinks will be at: all beer 35 baht, except Heineken which is 50 baht, wine per glass at 50 baht, whisky 60 baht, soft drinks at 20 baht. Queen M’s Scandinavian Pub & Restaurant is now open for lunch and dinner, serving some of the best from the Thai and Scandinavian kitchen. Some of the favourites are meatballs, minced beefsteak, pork chops, steaks, codfish, all served with mashed or boiled potatoes, brown or b้arnaise sauce and veggies. They also serve Scandinavian style hot-dogs and hamburgers, and of course their famous smorgasbord. Queen M’s is located on Soi 12, Pattaya Naklua Road, just 100 meters up the soi.

Enjoy Authentic Turkish Cuisine in Pattaya at A La Turca in traditional ambience. Fancy some good honest Thai home cooking? Visit the Ace Cafe at Hanuman Corner where they have many excellent and inexpensive Thai dishes, with most choices explained in an extensive pictorial menu for those new to the delights of Thai cuisine. Catch the German (tomorrow and Sunday) and Hungarian (July 30 - 31) Formula 1 Grand Prix at the Ace Cafe, Jomtien, where every minute of every lap will be shown in super surround sound! Also, is the doctor going to do it at Donnington? Well, if it’s live on UBC, Ace Cafe will be showing the Donnington Park Moto GP, tomorrow, right after the Formula 1. The International Riding School at Horseshoe Point is hosting the 2005 FEI World Jumping Challenge on Friday, August 5 to Sunday August 7. The opening ceremony is on August 5 from 4.30 p.m. with show jumping classes to follow. The competition continues on August 6 at 8 a.m. with dressage classes, and at 1 p.m., the show jumping carries on throughout the afternoon and all day on Sunday August 7. Everyone is welcome to watch.
