The Pattaya Women’s Development Group will continue its
vocational-training workshops for members next year, supplementing courses on
handicrafts with English lessons.
Group President Naowarat Khakhay welcomed more than 200 members to a July 16
meeting at city hall organized to draft plans for next year.
A main mission of the club has been to offer courses for women to earn extra
money in their free time or solve unemployment problems. This year’s curriculum
covered traditional Thai dance, making baskets from plastic ropes, painting
artificial jars and decoupage.
Next year’s programs will be finalized in September.
Besides occupational training, the Pattaya Women’s Development Group will hold
English lessons to prepare its members’ coming ASEAN Economic Community. At
present, the group has 430 members and the number is increasing continuously.
