Chonburi Sukhabot School presents scholarships

Chonburi Sukhabot School handed out scholarships to 1,750 students.

Chonburi Sukhabot School handed out more than 3.2 million baht in scholarships to 1,750 students thanks to donations from nearly 300 area residents and foundations.
Director of Secondary Educational Service Area Office 18 Abhisit Ruenjit and Chonburi Sukhabot Parent-Teacher Association President Jumruang Phanphiensilp handed out the awards at the Chonburi school July 12.
Jumruang said the teachers screened and interviewed students and visited homes to determine which pupils needed the most financial assistance. Scholarships were provided by alumni, the PTA, the Thunitti Foundation, other groups, and teachers, a total of 288 contributors.

Scholarship were broken into four categories: “promoting outstanding students quota for students,” highest grade point average, general financial assistance, and early education.
Fourteen students qualified for the first category, which rewarded the top Prathom students in the area who had transferred to Chonburi Sukhabot. Each received 3,000 baht.
Twelve students with the highest GPAs received 2,000 baht each, while 692 students received general financial support averaging 2,325 baht each. Early education stipends of 1,500 baht for Mattayom students were granted to 1,000 students.
Abhisit said the large amount of donations shows the community supports the school and has faith in its management and curriculum. He told the students they should be proud the community supports them and that they should work hard to justify that support. (CPRD)
