The Royal Thai Navy’s 2nd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment
awarded 70,000 baht in scholarships to children of military families to
mark the anniversary of the unit’s founding.
Regiment commander Capt. Wirat Somjit presented the 2,000 stipends to 35
students at the Air and Coastal Defense Command unit’s headquarters in
Sattahip June 5.
All the funds for the scholarships came from donations. Aranya
Achawabun, managing director of Arayana Phumiphan Resort & Spa, donated
30,000 baht. Suphamit Thassana sponsored 20,000 baht, Punya Treesuwan
donated 10,000 baht, and Prawin 10,000 baht.
Wirat said the regiment is the main battle group in the ACDC and its
success depends on its personnel. To maintain morale, commanders
organize annual scholarships for students of regiment families.
