The sounds and tastes of the Northeast come to Pattaya this weekend when the Issan Festival comes to Central Festival Pattaya Beach.
Pattaya Issan Association President Chanthiman Siripotiraksa announced details of the June 17-18 festival with top city and tourism officials June 9.
The highlight of the annual fest is the som tam competition, with a trophy awarded for the best spicy papaya salad representing northeastern cuisine.
In addition, there will be live bands, “pong lang” and other cultural performances, and plenty of food.
