BANGKOK, 24 March 2012  – Google and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) have jointly launched online tours to top destinations of Thailand.

The project offers street view or 360-degree street-level imagery of three best-known provinces of Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket. Tourists and internet surfers can now see how these must-come cities are like by simply logging on to http://maps.google.co.th/streetview/.

Thailand is the 35th country in the world and the second country in Southeast Asia after Singapore to have been included in the Google street view map.

TAT has planned to add seven more attractions in Ayutthaya and Sukhothai to the online tour. The program is expected to help promote tourism in the country and increase the number of visitors by 25 percent during the upcoming Songkran festival.

TAT has also unveiled a new campaign to persuade Thai people to share pictures of their trips and vote on the most impressive attraction through the website http://www.tourismthailand.org/mymiracle, starting from today until June.
