Folks from the Chong Lom
Temple-area receive free medical advice as part of the city’s
doctor-house call project.
Warunya Thongrod
Chong Lom Temple-area residents had their health
checked, and received medicine and vaccinations after Pattaya cooperated
with Thonburi Hospital to send more than 10 doctors and nurses to visit
the area as part of the city’s doctor-house call project.
Dentists and veterinarians joined doctors during the
July 5 medical fair on the Wat Chong Lom field. It was the 20th outreach
the city has organized to provide better preventative health care and
relieve the burden on city hospitals.
Physicians checked blood pressure, provided advice
and family planning consultations. Dentists did free check-ups and teeth
removal while residents with dogs, cats and rabbits got free animal
vaccines and contraceptives.
In addition, officials passed out sand to abate
mosquitoes and pesticides for rats.
Malee Niemnoi, 62, said she was glad to have the
house call, saying she was too ill to visit the doctor’s office herself.
Amolwan Runghiran, 63, said she was thankful for the
pet vaccines, as she has many dogs.
