Helping Sarocha

From the first story we ran
about her when she was just 11 years old back in December 2007.
Editor;
I just thought you like to know I read your article on
Sarocha Chompoo <http://pattayamail.com/875/news.shtml#hd11> and have made
contact with her and her father. At that time she was very close to dying of
poor health with no future. Her health is now very good and she passed
school this year for her first time in her life.
I have her living with a friend of hers so now she has a
real family where it is safe to sleep, and she gets food, schooling and
medicine. She is a very happy young lady with a future thanks to Pattaya
Mail taking the time to write about her.

Ed’s note: Sincere thanks from all of us here at Pattaya Mail.

2010 story in Pattaya Mail to which Bruce refers.

UK refusing health insurance?
Editor;
Amazing Thailand - I was informed by a relation in UK
that when applying for personnel insurance, was asked, “Have you spent any
time in Thailand?” Also, when offering to give blood was asked the same
question, and was refused. So I got an email asking if I knew why Thailand
was being singled out, so anyone know? Apart from the obvious HIV, which is
world wide.
Matt Jomtien
Ed’s note: Our resident doctor says that it could be
because of tropical diseases, such as malaria, dengue, Japanese B,
encephalitis, Hepatitis B…
