In an effort to better educate people about the law
and their rights, area law enforcement officials hosted a legal seminar
for Pattaya residents.
Deputy Mayor Wattana Chantanawaranon hosted the July
12 meeting aimed at advising people of their legal rights and preventing
them from engaging in illegal activities. Among the panelists were
representatives from the Pattaya Remand Prison, Chonburi Women’s
Department of Corrections, Chonburi Legal Implementation Department,
Department of Special Investigations, and Office of the Narcotics
Control Bureau.
The so-called “mobile justice system” gave residents
an opportunity to not only learn more about the law and their rights,
but voice complaints to legal officials and receive advice on such
matters as compensation from criminal cases and distribution of flyers.
Books on drug rehabilitation, property purchasing, bankruptcy and more
were also available.
Speakers shared stories of citizens not receiving
justice to be used as a lesson to not repeat the same actions and to
remind the participants that the justice system does exist, facts can be
inspected and proven, to give citizens the justice system they deserve.
