Chonburi police arrested 27 foreign women accused of
either soliciting prostitution on Walking Street, for overstay, or for
illegal entry, as well as 9 Liberian men for overstay and illegal entry.
12 of the suspected prostitutes hailed from
Uzbekistan, including their alleged trafficker Bekchanova Zamira; three
from Liberia, one from Ivory Coast, two from Uganda, one from Russia,
two from Cameroon and one from Canada.
Police also announced the arrest of 3 women for
overstay: two from Cameroon and one from Uganda, plus 4 women for
illegal entry: two from Liberia, and one each from Ivory Coast and
Canada.
The arrest roundup continued with 9 Liberian men
being remanded to custody, five for overstay and four for illegal entry.
All were processed for deportation.
