Thailand’s Australian, American and British chambers of
commerce once again joined forces for a combined networking evening on
Friday the 22nd of June.
The venue on this occasion was the trendy new ‘Soul
lounge’ at the Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya.
The general manager of the Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya, Jorge
Carlos Smith was on hand to ensure that his team was taking care of
everybody’s drinks; and the sashimi, pork dumplings and burgers filled those
empty stomachs after a hard day in the office.
The speeches were relatively brief with the president of
AustCham Thailand John Anderson thanking the staff & management of the Hard
Rock for being such great hosts. In addition to a couple of bottles of wine
given away to some lucky attendees, John gave an overview of what is coming
up in the AustCham diary, details of which can be found on their website
http://www.aust chamthailand.com
There were lots of familiar faces and a smattering of new
guests, including Renee Rees and Dustin Hanna from Proven Projects and from
the old school contingent were Paul Wilkinson of JVK movers, Stuart Daly
from Pattaya Realty who was busy telling people about his sister company
which caters for the commercial side of properties; as well as many others
including, Jimmy Howard, Andy Hall of CEA Projects, Rosanne Diamente from
Women with a Mission and her husband Michael who had to keep taking
transatlantic calls from his employer Dana Spicer even on a Friday night.
There is no doubt that chambers coming together in such a
manner helps boosts numbers, introduces different nationalities and if the
organizing committees keep to the quality of the Soul Lounge of the Hard
Rock, then this will encourage guest to come along and decide for themselves
which chamber is best suited for them, in terms of doing business here in
Thailand.
The details of the next Joint Chambers have yet to be
announced, but will publicized in future editions of the Pattaya Mail.
