Company officials and Thai Navy officers
prepare to ship out the floating toilets.
Patcharapol Panrak
Medical-equipment manufacturer Cardinal Health 222
donated 10 floating toilets to the Sattahip-based Air and Coastal
Defense Command for deployment in flood-ravaged Ayutthaya.
Managing Director Kasuo Tanaka presented the
lavatories to Royal Thai Navy personnel in Rayong Oct. 28. He said the
company’s directors were particularly concerned about the lack of
sanitation in inundated Ayutthaya, fearing it would cause disease and
more suffering.
Company engineers designed a floating toilet that
houses a 500-liter tank. Navy officials said the toilets would be sent
immediately to Bangkok for dispatch to Ayutthaya.
