A young German man died after plunging seven stories to
his death from a new Pattaya hotel.
Johann Nicolas-Fabian Schubler, 24, was pronounced dead
at Pattaya Memorial Hospital Oct. 20 after either jumping or falling from a
recently opened hotel on Soi 10 near Beach Road.
Hotel Assistant Manager Rithvitchya Chaankul said
Schubler had checked in on Oct. 8 and was due to leave on Oct. 24. His stay
was uneventful and that the young German had been spending time with an
unidentified Thai woman.
Police said the German’s room showed no signs of a
struggle. Investigators speculated Schubler either fell by accident or
jumped due to some romantic distress. Police planned to continue
investigating, tracking down the woman who’s identification card the hotel
had copied.
