German Princess Maja von Hohenzollern, the goodwill
ambassador for the Thailand Friends organization, debuted her new
jewelry collection “A Princess’s World” with fashion-jewelry distributor
On Top at Bangkok’s Impact Arena.
Thailand Friends board members Dirk and Wuttipong
Weeber-Arayatumsopon invited new German Ambassador Rolf Schulze to the
event and forwarded him a book of Thai fairy tales in German as a
welcoming present. “The Siamese Pot of Fairy Tales” is one of the social
projects of Thailandfreunde e.V. for underprivileged kids in the
kingdom.
Thailand Friends also donated 15 audio books of
fairly tales narrated by the princess to children of German Embassy
staff.
Saisom Wongsasulak, a representative of HRH Princess
Sirindhorn, was also on hand to receive a Thailand Friends donation of
20,000 baht for her project to support HIV-infected orphan girls in
Lamphun.
Finally, Schulze and 19 other Thailand Friends’
benefactors received souvenir pins with the emblem of the German
princess.
The idea for the jewelry collection arose when On Top
sponsored Princess Maja on a former journey to Thailand. She considers
the disposal of the jewelry not only as a profitable business but also
as a bridge between Europe and Thailand.
