Ric O’Barry, star of the movie “The Cove”, will be a special guest at the Regent’s School on Friday 30th September. He will introduce his controversial movie “The Cove” and then take questions once it has finished. All those interested are invited to come along for the talk which begins at 6.30 p.m. at the Globe Theatre towards the front of the school. This is a free event. Pattaya’s annual Vegetarian Festival is taking place from Sept. 26 - Oct. 6 at the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation in Naklua. As in previous years, the highlight of the event will be the vegetarian cooking, parades and popular entertainment. The festival will also feature a colourful Chinese dragon parade and processions of Chinese gods.

The next meeting of Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) will be on Sunday, October 2. Everyone is warmly welcome. The Club will have a very special speaker, Ric O’Barry, whose documentary film The Cove about the slaying of dolphins in Japan received an Oscar nomination. He will be talking about his organization’s efforts to save dolphins. The Club meets every Sunday morning at the Tavern by the Sea restaurant located on the north end of Beach Road (part of the Amari Orchid Resort). The program starts as usual at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Each week the PCEC usually has an interesting speaker to talk on various subjects of interest in an informal setting. The program is followed by the ever lively and often humorous Open Forum where questions are asked and answers given about living in Pattaya as well as an update on events in and around Pattaya.
