prostitutes as police made one of their periodic, and generally
ineffective, sweeps.
About 20 streetwalkers, most of them transvestites,
were rounded up around midnight March 24, fined 200 baht and released to
go back to the beach.
The sweep came in response to a recent surge in complaints about
Beach Road hookers.
