In the aftermath of the quake/tsunami catastrophe which tore into the countryside of northern Japan claiming thousands of lives and causing unimaginable destruction, Pattaya City put out a call for citizens to send aid and set up many donation points in the city for people to donate funds to help the unfortunate victims. On March 25, at Pattaya City Hall representatives of public and private organizations presented a sum of 357,520 baht to Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome to be sent to Japan to help in the relief efforts.

The management and staff of the Nova Gold Hotel Pattaya were thrilled to welcome snooker legend Jimmy White (centre) to the stylish boutique hotel recently. On hand to receive him were (l-r) Michael Procher, the general manager, Patcharee Nirat, Pinmanee Bangthong and Sascha Kunze.

Holiday Inn Pattaya participated in the energy saving Earth Hour 2011 on March 26. Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia when 2.2 million individuals and more than 2,000 businesses turned their lights off for one hour to take a stand against climate change. Earth Hour has done a lot to raise awareness of sustainability issues. It’s all about giving people a voice and working together to create a better future for our planet. Holiday Inn Pattaya has proven that turning off the lights for just 1 hour they saved up to 18 times the amount of energy that the hotel regularly uses during the same hour on other days. Lights were turned off in the restaurants and the lobby area.

Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome (2nd left) presided over a press conference held at the Pullman Pattaya Aisawan recently to announce the “Star Master Petanque Thailand” tournament which was successfully held last month at the Khao Rai Star Master Petanque Court on the 3rd Road, Central Pattaya. In attendance were Luc Rostici (left), President of Club Khao Rai Petanque Pattaya, Serge Rigodin (2nd right), Pullman Operations Manager and Jirawat Plukjai.
