Royal Thai Navy divisions continued year-end exercises, with Frigate Squadron 1 next up for war games.
Rear Adm. Somchai Na Banchang opened training Nov. 6 at the Royal Thai Fleet headquarters in Sattahip. Drills matched those performed the week previously by Frigate Squadron 2.
The exercise is an annual training for sailors, equipment and tactics to be tuned up, he said.
The Nov. 4-22 exercise will see practice of anti-ship missiles and evaluations from vessel commanders. The three-phase session covered academic education, on-ship training, weapons firing, and boat operations.
Somchai said goals of the training included understanding of surface combat, air defense and anti-submarine attacks.
