Small Thepprasit soi filled
with garbage

Buddhists have been presenting
candles to monks for thousands of years during Khao Phansa.

A little unnamed soi situated between Thepprasit Sois 6 and 8 is
apparently being ignored by the city’s sanitation department.
The Thepprasit Road neighborhood is now home to an 80-meter-long pile of
garbage, construction materials and rocks. Some resident don’t seem too
concerned, as they’ve now taken to using it as the local dump. But
responsible neighbors want Pattaya’s sanitation department to do its job and
clean up the mess.
Withoon Saetang, 53, said the problem has been going on for a long time and
the people responsible for the area, rather than prohibiting the dumping,
have actually been rummaging through the waste looking for recyclable items
to resell.
