More than 40 Pattaya teachers gained training on child-protection
laws and how to detect abuse at a seminar run by the Hand to Hand Foundation
and ECPAT International.
Pannee Limchaoren, head of the Pattaya Social Development Office, opened the
Aug. 20 workshop for 46 teachers with Margaret Granger from the Hand to Hand
Foundation and Phusa Sriwilas from ECPAT International at Pattaya City Hall.
The two organizations are planning five events through March to teach
educators and social workers about child-protection laws and the Convention
of Rights of the Child. The convention is a “contract between nations” that
children from all countries are entitled to certain rights from birth and
that member countries must act to protect those rights.
The training consisted of educating to build a foundation in collecting
information for each school leading to writing a policy on children
protection that can be implemented.
