HRH Princess Soamsawalee opened the third Royal Exhibition Honoring
HM the King, an exhibition allowing contemporary artists a chance to
compete for prizes while raising money for royal charities.
The princess was the first to tour the gallery of 400 paintings and
drawings at Central Festival Pattaya Beach Jan. 30, most of which
depicted HM the King on his missions around the country.
The centerpiece of the exhibit, which concluded Feb. 7, was artwork done
by His Majesty himself. A portion of proceeds from art sales will go to
Princess Soamsawalee’s Princess Pa Foundation.

The event also featured music and performances from
the Culture Ministry’s Contemporary Art and Culture Office. The final
day featured art lectures.
The exhibition aimed to sponsor, promote and broadcast recreational
contemporary art and culture to increase intellect and integrate it into
society to open opportunities for artists to exchange creative art
experience and inspire students to attend more art events.
The previous two shows were organized by freelance artists in Pattaya
and received good responses. The third show, sponsored by the Culture
Ministry, was also being supported by private-sector companies, such as
Central Festival.
