Wednesday, Nov. 15, Pattavia – Stableford

After Monday’s non-start at the Emerald with consistent rain for 45 minutes before we teed off, the forecast here today was not promising either.  There were six groups out and the consensus on the first tee was “let’s play”.

There was a cut of 9-16 and Rod Howett won division 2 with 37 points, two ahead of Johnny Walsh in second while Alan Bissell took third on 34.

A 21/18 back-nine count-back in division 1 saw Keith Woolley beat Bob Comartin after they both came in with 34 points and in third place was Tommy O’Donnell on 33.

Near pins went to (Div 1) Bob Comartin (2) and Pete Sumner, and (Div 2) Jim Connelly, Peter Davies, Chris Slota and Willy Van Heetvelde.

Tommy O’Donnell and Pete Sumner birdied the fourth in division 1 and in division 2 Rod Howett on the fourth as well and Ian Plummer on the thirteenth shared the ‘2’s pot.

Friday, Nov. 17, Eastern Star – Stableford

This course is still improving every week and there were a few good comments today from some of our newly returned lads.

After a few up and down games recently Pete Sumner is back on the ball and returned the best score of the day to win division 1 with 37 points.  Colin Aspinall was second on 35 and Mikael Andersson came in third with 33.

Irish boy Gerry Cooke, still needing a few euros, won division 2 with 35 points, David Phillips was two points behind in second place and Gil Phillips took third with 32.

Near pins were claimed by (Div 1) Bob Comartin (2), Jerry Sweetnam and Keith Woolley, and (Div 2) Gerry Cooke, Tony Thorne and Johnny Walsh.

Bob Comartin birdied the 17th and in division 2 there will now be three hefty rollovers here at Eastern Star next Friday.
