Hotel where employees created 21 dresses made from recycled products
found at the resort.
General Manager Nijjaporn Maprasert hosted the Sept.
4 fashion show, which awarded prizes to employees from four departments
who used potato chip packets, soda cans, plastic bags and other
recyclable items to craft costumes and dresses.
Kanchana Duangmokphanao from the hotel’s guest
services department won the top prize for her costume recalling Kinnaree
from Thai literature with a dress she called “Hiranyakinnaree” made of
chips packets and soda cans.
Waraporn Bumrung from Inventory won second prize with
her creation called “Sam Samphan,” which was made entirely of crisps
packets. Floor supervisor Prapas Duangchaingern won third place for her
dress, which was “sewn” from threads cut from plastic bags.
“This activity was created for employees to have a
part in campaigning and to remind employees of the hotel to never stop
and always push for development and improvements, including pushing for
helping the world, learning to preserve the environment and reducing
energy consumption,” Nijjaporn said.
