Police arrested a hotel bellboy for allegedly
stealing a guest’s ATM card.
Police took Rangsiman Saengworanut, 28, into custody
Sept. 3 after a complaint from guest Lak Saengsee, 38, at the City Lodge
Hotel. In the Nakhon Sawan native’s possession officers found 10,260
baht and Lak’s Bangkok Bank card.
Lak, visiting from Phitsanulok, said she had gone out
for the evening and returned to find the ATM card missing. Checking her
account, she discovered 60,000 baht had been withdrawn and called
police.
Police checked the security cameras outside the
Family Mart convenience store where the withdrawal was made and caught a
picture of Rangsiman using the card.
Police said the bellboy confessed he’d used a spare
key to steal the card and withdrawn the 60,000 baht, which he said he
needed to pay off loan sharks. As for the woman’s Personal
Identification Code, the suspect said he’d guessed it.
