Pattaya residents learned about preventative medicine
and treatments for common illnesses so they can become advocates for
healthy living in their neighborhoods.
At a July 31 workshop, Thongsuk Mantrathorn,
president of Preservation of Thai Cultures and Language Club, taught
volunteers, community leaders and school nurses how to speak with
neighbors to promote health care and spread knowledge about available
medical services.
The goal was to spread knowledge regarding better
health, prevention and treatments for residents and to urge people to
learn and distribute that knowledge to communities. That, in turn, will
lead to more self-dependence and resolve long-term health issues and
reduce the number of hospital patients.
