Thailand’s largest hotel chain and Pattaya developer join forces

Well known Pattaya developers and Centara Hotels and Resorts launch Centara Avenue Residence and Suites

David Marciano and Kobi Elbaz (MD Tulip Group) sign a contract with Kevin Wallace (President Centara Hotels & Resorts) to develop the Centara Avenue Residence and Suites in Central Pattaya.

On the 29th June at the Centara Mirage Grand Wongamat Beach, Naklua, developers David Marciano and Kobi Elbaz (MD Tulip Group) along with Kevin Wallace (President Centara Hotels & Resorts) held a contract signing ceremony for the Construction of Centara Avenue Residence and Suites in Central Pattaya.

Centara Avenue Residence & Suites Pattaya will be a fantastic new development offering unbeatable value within one of Pattaya’s most up and coming areas.

Centara is the largest hotel chain in Thailand with currently a total of 57 properties, 43 of them nationwide and 14 overseas. The award winning hotel chain will occupy building H of the project and provide full project management.

The demand for city centre homes is once more driving the market upward, and buyers will now have the security and peace of mind that their purchased properties will be under the Centara umbrella.

In addition to the hotel management by Centara the project will also have world class facilities including 70m swimming pool covering a total area of 650sqm, with water slides, pool bar, waterfalls, tropical landscaping, stunning roof gardens, sauna, steam-room, 60m fitness room, international restaurant, and even concierge care, and will cover a land area of 6700sqm.

The most surprising thing about this project is the pricing, starting at just 1.69 million baht, which represents unbeatable value for a project of this stature and originality.

Full marketing of the project will start this month, but interest and demand has naturally been high for such a prestigious secure investment, and a spokesman for Alan Bolton Property Consultants (Sole Agent) confirmed that 50 properties had been sold in the 2 weeks since the official contract signing.

This project yet again demonstrates that the Pattaya market is very strong and Pattaya’s location to the airport and Central Bangkok as well as it huge range of activities from world class restaurants, shopping, beaches and growing infrastructure are key factors in why high profile developers continue to look for exciting new ways to deliver high quality sophisticated product to buyers both locally and internationally.

AuLED Co. chief sheds light on green lamps project at German-Thai Chamber meeting

The head of a joint venture working to bring environmentally friendly lighting to Thai gas stations shed some light on his company’s products and goals at the latest meeting of the German-Thai Chamber of Commerce.

Michael Vender, executive director of AuLED Co., a partnership between German’s Autev AG and Thailand’s Vinic Co., said the company is installing new “AuLED” lighting systems for a major gas station operator, marking the first time the “green” lighting technology used throughout Germany will be deployed in the Kingdom.

Vender said AuLED lamps are being used in streetlights, offices and factories and are both cost effective and energy-efficient.

“We have received awards many times for our developments in the area of high-quality LED light technologies, including one from the German Federal Environment Ministry,” Vender told the July 8 chamber meeting at the Drift lounge in the Pattaya Hilton. “Our energy-efficient LED streetlight is in demand and in use worldwide.”

He said AuLED lighting is different from most streetlamps in that light beams are narrowly focused downward, rather than emitting light in all directions. However, he said, the focusing does not lessen the intensity of the illumination.

He said such lights also last up to 13 years and can actually be dimmed, so they can adapted to users’ needs.

This month’s meeting marked the start of a new format for the German-Thai chamber, which will now meet every other month at a different location, said chamber president Rolf-Dieter Daniel.

PTT, Mitsubishi Chemical starts joint bio-plastic venture

Thailand’s largest oil and gas conglomerate, PTT, and Japan’s Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, developer of bioplastic technology, are jointly investing in a Thai-based bioplastic production project with the investment of about Bt7 billion, PTT chief executive Prasert Bunsumpun said Thursday.

In the joint venture company, PTT MCC Biochem Co., has an equal 50 percent share, with an overall registered capital of $12 million (Bt360 million).

PTTMCC plans to produce 20,000 tonnes of bidegradable polybutylene succinate (PBS) annually, using sugar as its primary raw material and 36,000 tonnes of substrates for bio-succinic acid (BSA) per year.

The plant will be located at the Asia Industrial Estate in Rayong on a 40-acre plot of land and production is set to start in 2014.

The investment will push Thailand to become Asia’s biohub, Prasert said. (MCOT)
