Hilton Hotels & Resorts expanded the reach of its global
leisure portfolio with the opening of the Hilton Pattaya, a 302-room upscale
hotel in a prime location on Pattaya’s beachfront.
The Nov. 28 opening celebration began with a “Blue
Energy” Party for staff and a merit-making ceremony with nine Buddhist monks
from Chaimongkol Temple blessing employees. Top executives then briefed
workers to prepare for the opening of the Hilton’s doors the following day.

The release of 2010 Hilton blue-and-white balloons marked
the official opening at 10:30 a.m. on Monday 29 and team members hit the
beach in the afternoon, distributing brochures and “lucky vouchers” to
passers-by, who could win prizes ranging from hot chocolates or cocktails at
the Drift Lounge in the lobby to a bottle of champagne and dessert at
hotel’s Flare restaurant to a complimentary second night stay once booked
before February.

That night saw the ribbon-cutting ceremony led by General
Manager Harald Feurstein. Joining in were a host of local officials and
hotel executives, including Banglamung District Chief Mongkol Thamakittikhun,
Chonburi Gov. Wichit Chatpaisit, Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome and
Suthichai and Sudhitham Chirathivat, the executive chairman and executive
director, respectively, of the Central group of companies, which owns the
hotel.
All the guests welcomed the Hilton’s first VIP guests and
watched as they were checked into their rooms. Everyone then enjoyed
champagne and cocktails at the Executive Lounge, taking in a breathtaking
view of Pattaya Bay from the Hilton’s 16th story terrace. Completing their
toasts, the guests settled into to enjoy the musical talents of well-known
band Vietrio and a fashion show of Hilton uniforms.

Afterward, a wonderful selection of delicious meals were
served to all guests at the Edge restaurant, where everyone enjoyed an
interactive dining experience, courtesy of the modern kitchen’s stylish
atmosphere and panoramic view.
