Police Lieutenant Colonel Annop Nakbanphop told all
his sub-ordinates on November 1st that his first command in his new
posting will be to wipe out prostitution in the Sattahip District.
Police
Lieutenant Colonel Annop Nakbanphop addresses his troops.
He then exhorted his officers and enlisted men to show concrete results
and not just statistics. He said that the public’s safety and well-being
was to be every police officer’s first consideration. His police
officers should not be afraid of any ‘influences’, and said that the
officers should be aware that fighting such influences was their duty.
He said arrests were not to be made in a cavalier fashion and that all
arrests should be supported by hard evidence and not hearsay.
He said that he could not emphasise strongly enough that no acceptance
of ‘gratuities’ or ‘favours’ from anyone was acceptable. He also said
there would be no toleration of extorting money from the poorer sectors
of society.
He continued on to say that if the police did their work properly the
crime rate would be much lower.
Lt. Colonel Annoy finished by stating that security will be all
important during the election period, as it is a major political event
affecting the whole country. Officers must be alert at all times.
