Trapped woman waits two hours for proper help

Jarinya Boonwan waits in
distress for rescue workers to free her trapped hand.
On October 9th, Jarinya Boonwan, an employee of the
Pattaya Graphic Printing Company in Banglamung, was “held hostage” for
over 2 hours after she accidentally caught her hand in an offset
printing plate. Jarinya had not been instructed in the proper handling
of the offset printing machine and her hand became caught up to her
wrist while attempting to clean the plates.
Her boss, Sooboon Soboon, along with other workers under his
instruction, had tried to free her hand, but after 2 hours of futile
attempts they finally called the Bangkok-Pattaya Hospital and the Sawang
Boriboon foundation.
Approximately 20 minutes after rescue workers arrived on the scene, they
managed to pry the exposed plate off the machine with an axe and free
the woman’s wrist.
Sooboon, obviously showing more concern for his machinery than for his
employee, plaintively stated that if he had known the situation would
have caused such a large problem, with police involvement, he would have
called the hospital immediately.
