Pattaya Mayor Pairat
Suthithamrongsawat implores Pattaya police and local teachers to do everything
they can to wipe out the amphetamine problem in both the schools and in society.
Pattaya Mayor, Pairat Suthithamrongsawat, in a meeting on
October 9th, revealed that he had received a report from a teacher at one of
Pattaya’s schools that Koh Larn had become a major source for amphetamines.
The mayor expressed his concern over amphetamines having become a major problem
in Thailand. He said that Pattaya’s former reputation as one of the world’s most
desirable tourist destinations is being ruined by these types of undesirable
situations.
The mayor implored police to begin investigations as soon as possible and arrest
those manufacturing or selling these drugs.
The mayor said he recently had a meeting with principals from 10 schools in
Pattaya to warn them of the dangers of amphetamines. He also cautioned teachers
to not tolerate any such drugs in schools as they can be a major factor in the
destruction of Thai society.
