Chonburi buffalo races
on for this weekend

To celebrate the end of Buddhist Lent, Chonburi
officials have once again organized their annual Buffalo Racing
Festival.
The weeklong festival runs from Oct. 14-20, with the highlight being the
buffalo races Oct 18-20 on the field in front of city and provincial
government offices.
As usual, races will be complemented with booths selling locally made
items, stage performances, games and beauty contests. There also will be
a “13 kwienkan” cart for offerings to monks, parade and an
amulet-judging contest.
Events also include a buffalo beauty pageant, Miss Farmer beauty contest
and a comic buffalo costume contest, rides for children and concerts of
folk music. The fair includes handicrafts and food stalls appealing to
visitors who love authentic Thai food, snacks and sweets. (CPRD & TAT)
