What about the new Marina?
Editor;
Re: Robotic parking garage set to open in Pattaya next month (PM Friday, 18
October 2013) - And what about the new marina (at Bali Hai), which a few
years ago had been presented as the new yachting hub for the Gulf of
Thailand? Basic services and proper security are still missing and it does
look like this will become just another speed boat parking. No serious
yachtsman or cruiser would ever consider berthing his boat here under the
present conditions. And when will the mess created by the speed boat owners
at last be cleaned up?

Why Pattaya?
Editor;
Re: Notorious Korat (PM Mailbag Friday, 25 October 2013) - Okay, Ray, why on
earth did you move to Pattaya of all places, if all you want is peace and
quiet? I am sorry, I don’t understand it. I live in Denmark and I can warmly
recommend Denmark to you. It is very quiet here, even during rush-hours. I
call it boring, but you would love it here. One of the things I love about
Thailand is that everything is full on, and I am not exactly a teenager
anymore at age 47. And I always miss it when I am not in Thailand. Cheer up
and enjoy life!

We are the ones imposed upon

Re: Difficult to comprehend (PM Mailbag Friday, 25 October 2013) - Just the
other day, I was at one of these bus stop restaurants and after asking for a
vegetarian meal they served me chicken and egg! We vegetarians are the ones
who are constantly imposed upon - not the other way around!

Not entitled
to a certificate
Editor;
Re: Noise beyond all reason (PM Mailbag Friday, 18 October 2013) - Dear
Jackyboy, even though you’ve been staying in Pattaya for more than 25 years
you’re not entitled to a certificate, a medal or a trophy. Kittachai is
talking in his mail about an extremely noisy open air place with loud music
(live band) at 4 a.m. and beyond. Nobody is above the law in Thailand, so
please be considerate in such matters. We all enjoy the positive vibrations
of this city. The law says clearly, that after 2 a.m. there should not be
such disturbing noise anymore.
Cheers

Thailand Testament
Editor;
Re: The importance of preparing a Will in Thailand (PM Friday, 15 March
2013) - Thailand Testament: My brother, Guy Lloyd, was killed in Pattaya in
2010. He left a Testament in two parts, one in Thailand and one in Italy. A
lady in Pattaya got his estate in Thailand, his bank account and his varies
properties. In Italy half the estate went to the executor and half to my
sister and myself. However, the executor stole all the Italian estate for
himself. Our problem, the Pattaya lawyer who wrote the Testament refuses to
answer letters or emails or calls. We need a letter from him for the Italian
Testament and he will not speak to us.

All exceptions count
Editor;
Re: Leave the rest of us alone (PM Mailbag Friday, 18 October 2013) - My
point Mr. Warren is that in the subject of nutrition, animal species
comparisons often yield little or no nutritional facts that are without
debate. Reading is fundamental. There are numerous successful carnivore
species that do not find eating meat injurious to their health. In humans,
Eskimos had a 99% carnivore diet and lived healthy lives without modern
maladies. Your enthusiasm for a nutritional opinion is only going to be
taken seriously if you can explain the exceptions. All exceptions count.

So true
Editor;
Re: 3 years after promised changes, blocking parking spaces still common (PM
Friday, 18 October 2013) - So true and you forgot to mention the motorbike
taxi groups who not only claim the legal and illegal street parking but also
set up shop and sleeping quarters on the public sidewalks. And by the way,
they don’t own or rent the land they claim or pay any taxes. They are quick
to tell you to go park somewhere else. Remember “up to you” - not really, it
is “up to them”.

People will complain a lot more than
compliment

Re: Royal Wing Suites & Spa wins Social Hotel Award for Best Reputation
Management in Social Media (PM Friday, 25 October 2013) - One of the sad
things about human nature is that they will complain a lot more than
compliment on social media about their experience with a hotel.
The cost associated with negative reviews of hotels can be staggering. Even
if someone decides to go ahead and stay at a motel/hotel with a negative
review, the customer is always leery and on edge, ready to complain to the
staff at the slightest inconvenience because they have that negative reviews
always in their head.
It is imperative that hotel management take control of their customer
reviews and develop a positive online reputation.

So sorry to hear this
Editor;
Re: Obit: Patricia Jantapasittipol (PM Thursday, 03 October 2013) - So sorry
to hear this. Pat welcomed my wife and I when I worked in Pattaya and we
became good friends with her and her husband. I am coming back to Pattaya
soon and was looking forward to meeting her again. Truly sorry to hear this
sad news.

Medical tourism and wellness tourism
Editor;
Re: Wellness Spa Tourism in Thailand (PM Wednesday, 11 September 2013) - I
really enjoyed reading your article and agree it is important to make the
distinction between medical tourism and wellness tourism. I travelled to Hua
Hin three years ago and experienced the wonderful Thai foot massage and now,
inspired by your article, would love to go back for the Wellness Retreat
Package. Thank you for this interesting information.
