A Chonburi woman was devastated after her 18-year-old nephew
died on a motorbike she had just given him.
Adisak Srirung, 18, suffered a broken neck after colliding head-on with
a Toyota Wigo pickup truck driven by 44-year-old Sombut Sanjan on
Chaiyapornwitti Road in front of World Gas.
The victim had just received the red-and-black Honda he was driving. He
not only didn’t wear his helmet - it was still buckled to the
motorbike’s frame - but he was driving on the wrong side of the road.
Sombut told police he was driving normally when he saw Adisak and
several friends speeding down the road on motorbikes. Adisak then drove
into his lane and Sombut was unable to avoid the crash.
Nonetheless, police initially arrested him on charges of reckless
driving.
