Heavy rains wreaked havoc
on Pattaya Beach, causing the mayor to send out heavy equipment
overnight to get it back in shape in time for the next morning’s
tourists.

City workers on tractors rolled across a storm-gouged Pattaya Beach
to try and repair the damage done by Typhoon Wuthip.
Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome ordered workers to hit the beach around 6 p.m.
Oct. 8 after rain had stopped.
Three tractor crews worked throughout the night to level the beach
surface so it looks as good as possible for tourists once the sun came
up.
