Authorities are battling wildfires in the Ob Luang National Park in Chiang Mai as the PM 2.5 levels in nearby areas increase to unhealthy levels.

The wildfires broke out at several locations in the national park in Hot district yesterday.

Firefighters carried out the operation to put out the forest fire on foot and six aircrafts from ministries and the Royal Thai Army were deployed to extinguish the fire in inaccessible areas.

The Royal Thai Air Force’s BT-67 aircraft joined the operation to dump 3,000 liters of water on the blaze to create a firebreak in Chom Thong district. (TNA)
