‘Thailand Travelution 2022’ event to help drive Thai tourism industry’s digital transformation

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), in cooperation with the Phuket Tourist Association and the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), has announced that the ‘Thailand Travelution 2022’ event – which will focus on the importance of using technology and the insight of Big Data to help drive the Thai tourism industry’s digital transformation – will be held on 18-19 November, 2022, at the CentralWorld complex in Bangkok.

Mr. Nithee Seeprae, TAT Deputy Governor for Digitalization, Research and Development, said “The Thailand Travelution 2022 event aims to move the Thai tourism industry ever closer towards full digital transformation by recognizing the importance of using strategic insights and applying tourism technology to drive the kingdom’s tourism business to greater heights. The event will gather both modern tourist trends and encourage the creation of commercial areas in tourism technology, and at the same time seek to stimulate and publicize entrepreneurs and start-ups in the tourism sector.”



Thailand Travelution 2022 will consist of three main parts:

Part 1 – Hackathon will feature competitive activities to find the best ideas to develop tourism innovations by using data from the ‘Tourism Data Intelligence Sandbox’ to develop new services and thus increase the ability to compete at the international level.

Part 2 – Tech Talk will see invited experts and tourism industry professionals, as well as Unicorn Tech Start-up from all over Thailand covering such areas as airlines, hotels, insurance, and payments share their ideas and visions.

Part 3 – Travel Tech Exhibition will showcase more than 100 tourism innovations from entrepreneurs in tourism technology, hardware, the metaverse, AI, and Big Data, and provide business matching opportunities between innovators and tourism operators.


Thailand Travelution 2022 will also promote reiterate the importance of Phuket as a pilot area for the Tourism Data Intelligence Sandbox through which will be created tourism data intelligence that relevant agencies and entrepreneurs, both small and large, can analyze to form marketing strategies.

In addition, the Government Big Data Institute and the Thai Meteorological Department have signed an agreement for the development of the Tourism Data Intelligence Sandbox.

Prior holders of State Welfare Cards who came to register said the program helped to substantially reduce their household expenses.
