In Bangkok, people were seen arriving at the Government Savings Bank (GSB) headquarters in the morning to register for the program. The GSB is facilitating nationwide registrations across 1,076 locations, most of which are located at GSB branches in addition to 22 being ad-hoc service stations.

Most visitors to the GSB headquarters had reportedly never held a State Welfare Card previously but said they wanted access to the program so they could use the allotted stipend to cover daily expenses.

In Yala province, both new and returning users were seen arriving at the provincial hall in the early morning to register for the program. Queue cards were handed out in the waiting area, while personnel were on hand to facilitate the registration process.

Prior holders of State Welfare Cards who came to register said the program helped to substantially reduce their household expenses.

There are about 143,000 holders of the previous State Welfare Card in Yala province. For the 2022 registration round, the provincial authority has set up 26 locations across eight districts. (NNT)
