Deputy PM Ekniti Nitithanprapas outlined Thailand’s plan to strengthen its role as an ASEAN manufacturing hub, highlighting AI adoption, SME support, and energy transition at SUBCON Thailand, INTERMACH, and Plastics & Rubber Thailand 2026 in Bangkok.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Ekniti Nitithanprapas detailed the government’s plan to promote Thailand as a manufacturing hub in ASEAN at the opening of SUBCON Thailand, INTERMACH, and Plastics & Rubber Thailand 2026 in Bangkok.

Ekniti said ongoing global uncertainty, driven by geopolitical tensions and supply chain disruptions, presents both challenges and new opportunities. He noted that Thailand remains well-placed due to its stability and neutral stance, but must move quickly to attract investment and deepen integration with global supply chains.

The deputy premier noted that progress will depend on close cooperation between the government and the private sector, including the adoption of artificial intelligence and support for small and medium-sized enterprises. The energy transition is now critical, given Thailand’s reliance on imported fuel and its exposure to global price volatility.

The exhibition, held at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center, features key sectors including industrial subcontracting, machinery and automation, and plastics and rubber, providing participants and investors an important platform for business matching and investment expansion. (NNT)
